Jacko is located in the old center of Tel-Aviv, just across the street from the first skyscraper built in the middle-east, the Shalom Tower, in an old building dating from the 20's or 30's. The interior decor and ambience is not overwhelming, but rather simple and clean. What was fantastic about Jacko's was two things, the food and the service.
It is not often that I enjoy both these, but here the service was good and informative, they know what they are serving you and they know how to answer your questions with a smile.
The food was excellent and in sufficent quantity that I left feeling very good, which for me is unusual...many high end restaurants thing that just their name will fill your stomach....not so at Jacko, they give you a portion well worth the money you pay.

Favorite Dish: We ordered a "selection of salads", which included many small dishes of Olives, Carrots, Beets, Shumar in balsamic sauce (not sure what Shumar is in English), Culiflower in a Theina sauce, Feta cheese with Zatar, red peppers with hot peppers and olive oil, Herring, Ikra (a type of fish egg spread), Theina, and a dish of salad with lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes.
This was accompanied by a basket of their home made bread.

The main dish for me was Shrimps in a sauce that combined coconut oil, chili sauce and a type of sweet and sour sauce, to my taste buds it was excellent.
Zohara enjoyed a baked catfish.

For desert I enjoyed the "Malabi", a type of local dish, not sure what it is made from, but it looks like a type of Flan, but it is NOT. It was covered in a sauce of blueberries.
Zohara had the Bavaria, highly laced with chocolate sauce....both were excellent.
