National Museum, Warsaw: 11 reviews and 16 photos
The building of the National Museum may be a pretty dull one but the collections it houses certainly are not. Its permanent exhibitions include the fascinating Professor Kazimierz Michalowski's Faras Gallery, the galleries of ancient art, of mediaeval art, the galleries of Polish and European painting, of 20th century Polish art and some galleries of decorative art. A virtual tour of some of those is available on the web (see link below).
Apart from permanent exhibitions the Museum organises some temporary ones. At the moment (until 30th March) it's 'Exploring the Interwar Period in Polish Art', really worth seeing.
The reproduction of the picture by the outstanding Polish painter and playwright Stanislaw Wyspianski, which you can see in one of the hidden photos, is just an ad of the biggest Polish state bank, which sponsors the Museum. True to life if you visualise the bank as the greedy baby rather than the mother.
