Buda Castle - Royal Palace, Budapest: 164 reviews and 374 photos
With a turbulent history dating back to the 13th century, the Royal Palace has been destroyed and reuilt many times during its long history. The current reconstruction took place after WW II and was restored to its 19th century Hapsburg glory. One of the main characteristics of the Royal Palace is its dome.
The grounds of the Royal Palace comprise of the Buda Castle which houses the Hungarian National Gallery, the Budapest History Museum, Matyas Fountain, the ornamental gateway, Lion Gate, and the statue of Prince Eugene of Savoy.
I would recommend spending a full day visiting the many museums and views from the top of the Palace.
Address: Castle Hill - District I
Directions: All over the city.
