Walking from the cruise-ship to the citycentre is impossible without beeing first taken by bus to the end of the pier, in a distance of 2 km from the city-centre. There you can take the bus or walk back to the city.
When you have enough time : walk and you will pass by lots of lovely building that are worth a closer look or a photograph. All of the way there is a shady allee of palmtrees, where you can walk in the fine sand, see the monuments of some local heros and lots of lovely buildings like the mercado, the french embassy and the art-nouveau-buildings next to it, the arc de triumph...
Walkingtime from the place where you leave the port to Plaza Sotomayor is about 30 minutes one way.
