Dancing and drinking in Tabatinga: "Brazilian nights" Departamento del Amazonas Nightlife Tip by colombiantraveler

Leticia, as it is a small town, doesn't have a special nightlife. Of course, local people go out to bars, discos and typical restaurants, but they are not very fancy and are not particularly advisable. My wife and I found more fun in Tabatinga, a little Brazilian town, only 5 minutes by car from Leticia. In fact, it's difficult to realize when you have crossed the frontier between Colombia and Brazil because you drive on the same "International Avenue" and there are no frontier guards at the border.
So, if you want to try a Brazilian night you can take a cab and going to Tabatinga where there are some typical and noisy places facing the Amazon River where locals get together to share some beers and dance while a little band plays Brazilian, Colombian and even Peruvian music to dance and sing. It is cheap and very basic, but it gives you the opportunity of tasting a bit of the Brazilian happy way of life.
