This was a brave move in my opinion but, they did it right. Getting tourists on to a boat on Bruny Island isn't that easy because there aren't that many on the island.
Clever people at the Charters decided to bring them from Hobart instead. Thus it is that if you pick up the charter at Adventure Bay you may well wonder where everyone else is. Trust me, they're coming by the busload.
Two boats went out the day I was there. You're talking around $100 per adult to board and that includes a snack on the boat and not much more.
However, you can get something to eat before and after at the "Army choice" cafe (take it or leave it) should you so desire. The extremely limited menu doesn't even extend to toast!
The boats are purpose built and well suited to the job (pic 2) which involves sticking their noses into narrow canyons and caves. Our guide, whose name was Mike if I remember correctly, was worth the price of admission alone, such was the nature of his patter.
