First thing you'll do is get to the main carpark for Freycinet. The National Park HQ has lots of information and it's here you can pay your park fees - think more than $20 per vehicle or, if you plan a longer stay and want to visit more national parks, a holiday pass for just under $60 is what you need and you then get a sticker you can put on your vehicle.
This place is so crowded these days that they have an overflow carpark. The day we visited that was full as well and people were parked anywhere they could find a reasonable space.
Lucky we got there early and found a good location.
When you're trekking in the Aussie bush, always take something to drink with you. The walk up to the lookout alone is strenuous and will have you sweating, especially if it's summer.
En route you can think granite and trees because, apart from some nice aspects over Coles Bay, that's all you'll see on the way up as shown in these pics.
