"Malta Maritime Museum" Malta Things to Do Tip by iwys

Malta Things to Do: 753 reviews and 1,109 photos

Malta's Maritime Museum is massive. If you are interested in ships and naval history, this is the place for you. Exhibits range from Roman anchors, through traditional Maltese fishing boats, to twentieth century ships' engines. A lot of the rooms relate to the British Royal Navy. There is even a reconstructed Second World War naval canteen.

The palatial nineteenth century building that houses the museum, designed by British architect William Stamp, was surprisingly, a humble naval bakery.
