On the western side of Hoan Kiem Lake, is a small monument dedicated to Le Loi who expelled Chinese invaders in 1428; he is the one of the legend of the restored sword of Hoan Kiem Lake! Look how proudly he holds his sword, he later gave back to the god of the lake.
This is a very small statue fitted on a pillar and incense burns at the foot of the pillar. After his victory, he became emperor, under the name of Le Thai To (not to be confused with Ly Thai To!!)
There are few trees and benches here, and it is rather calm and it is nice to walk around for a few minutes. Nearby is a café where it is also very pleasant to have a sit with a drink and look at the trees.
Directions: Le Tai To street, West of Hoan Kiem Lake.
