"Sevilla" Andalucía Things to Do Tip by blint

Andalucía Things to Do: 228 reviews and 367 photos

Swvilla is the Capital of Andalucia and what better place to start your tour of Andalucia but here in the west of the Communidad.

Sevilla is not on the coast but is only about 20km away; the famous Guadalquivir river also runs through it.

The architecture is a wonderful mix or Moorish and southern Spanish, including a fairly extensive Jewish quarter called Santa Cruz which plays host to some of the quaintest narrow streets in the city.

It is split into several neighbourhoods the most famous being Triana, La Macarena, Santa Cruz, Los Remedios, Heliópolis and Nervión.

It is also littered with monuments and places of interest such as the Cathedral, the Alcazar, la Giralda tower, Plaza España (used in Star Wars 1), the Torre del Oro and numerous parks and churches. For the children you can also vist Isla Magica (Magic Island) which is an attraction or theme park filled with roller coasters and the such like. You can also take a short day trip to the Roman Ruins of Italica or La Carmona.

If you like shopping then you can find lots of shops here, if you like eating you can find lots of great restaurants and if you like drinking then there are lots or bars too. Furthermore if you like dancing and Flamenco then you won't be disappointed by the many Flamenco shows they put on here, although the bigger ones for tourists can be very expensive.

They have recently pedestrianised and installed a tram service that runs through the centre making Sevilla more ecologically friendly or you can also opt for renting a bike from most street corners.
