Sonoma Restaurants: 59 reviews and 90 photos
Deuce has been operating at 691 Broadway, just blocks from the Sonoma Plaza for ten years. Their tasteful dining rooms and gorgeous garden patio along with their friendly, courteous staff led the Zagat Guide to declare, “Deuce is what Sonoma is supposed to be.” Chef Jamison Miller turns out inventive contemporary American food with French and Italian accents.
It's a comfortable place that caters to locals, but does well with tourists as well. Chef Jamison has raised the bar at Deuce and the food is inventive and very good. The menu changes seasonally to take advantage of fresh local products.
The wine selection currently features 170 different wines. Some 67 wines, or close to 40 percent of the wine list, are priced under $30. Peter and Kirsten Stewart have found some delicious treasures like David Noyes’ 2004 Tocai Friulano ($23) and 2003 Jade Mountain Old Vine Mourvedre ($26). Mark Bittman of the New York Times says, “. . . the wine list is a gem.”
Deuce closes on May 15th, 2009. It will reopen under new ownership as Emmy's Spaghetti Shack.
Favorite Dish: They have wonderful ravioli, the fillings changing often, but always good.

Any fish special is consistently delicious, usually with inventive light sauces and side dishes.
