The Echo Canyon Loop Trail consists of the Echo Canyon Trail, the Hailstone Trail and the Ed Riggs Trail. I recommend you take this trail counterclockwise, that way you go down the Echo Canyon Trail (which is kind of steep) and up the Ed Riggs Trail. This way begins with the Echo Canyon Trail. In the first part you see many spectacular views of the rock formations. At the highest elevations there are not many trees; but as you walk to lower elevations you see more. Here are more photos
