Glencombcille / Glencolumbcille is an interesting village in the north of Ireland, maybe 30 km west of the town of Donegal. Glencombcille Folk park is an open-air-museum and a perfect place to see old farmhouses and and the old ogham stones / pillar-stones, dating back ´hundreds of years.
Plenty of old houses from various parts of Ireland had been rebuilt here , most of them with a beautiful straw-roof.
You can walk through the museum freely and without restrictions outside of the opening hours, but the interior of many buildings may be seen only during the opening-times of the museum, against a small entrance-fee.

Directions: Glencolumbcille / Glencomcille is not far from Slieve League and it is about 40 km west of the city of Donegal. Drivingtime is about 45 minutes from Donegal city
