Set on the B6 2km or so from Kourion on the Pafos side, this stadium was part of the ancient city (destroyed by an earthquake in 4th century).
It originally held 6000 people......imagine watching chariot races there, the roar of the crowd (possibly amplified by inverted pottery jars set in the masonry above spectators' heads, as in Rome), the betting, the smell of perfume and sweat, the hawkers and prostitutes and touts.......
Not much remains now; the walls, the entrances (3), a few rows of seats set above the sea and below an early-Christian basilica (also ruined).
Free to enter, and free to explore, and a great place for imagining how things once were......
