Ahoy': "Ahoy'" Rotterdam Nightlife Tip by Pieter11

Ahoy' is a famous hall for all kinds of events that is located in the centre of Rotterdam. It was originally built as an exhibition hall about the huge reconstruction of the centre of Rotterdam in 1950. Ahoy is a kind of greeting that is mostly used in the sea/harbour business.

Later, in 1969, the hall is built that you can visit nowadays. In 1971 it was opened and quickly it became one of the most important and popular eventhall in the Netherlands. Today the hall has seats for about 15.000 people, depending on the kind of event.

Big events that take/took place here are:
- The Six-Days Indoorcycling Event of Rotterdam
- The Rotterdam World Tennis Tournament
- North Sea Jazz Festival
- Night of the Proms
- And lots, lots and lots of concerts of the greatests artists in the world...

I visited Ahoy' twice for concerts of UB40.
