"need a car" Toggletown Transportation Tip by davecallahan
Toggletown Transportation: 1 reviews and 1 photos
To get to and to get around Toggletown, the only practical transportation method is a car.
It is a 5 mile walk or bike ride from the farms of Toggletown to Avon or Caledonia (the nearest towns with any kind of facilities). So you could walk or bike if you are in real good condition but it isn't practical to use those methods to go sight seeing. Places to see like Conesus Lake or Genesee Country Museum are at least 15 miles away.
If you do not have your own car, the nearest rental place is in Geneseo (Enterprise, 4243 Lakeville Road, 585-243-6660) and they have a pick-up and drop-off service for a fee.
Driving around the area is pretty straigtforward. You have major routes US20 and 63 for east-west travel and routes 36, 39 and 5 for north-south travel. To go farther afield you can access I-390, I-490 and I-90. All of the secondary roads in the area are well maintained in all seasons (may be a bit snow blown in the winter) and there are car repair shops and gas stations on route US20, also in Avon, Geneseo and Caledonia.
