My favourite used to be called the 'Big W': "The Food is Fantastic" Cairo Restaurant Tip by jaqs

It used to be called the Big W because of the sign out of the front I think. Its changed name now but if you ask any local in Maadi where it is they should know the one. The atmosphere was amazing... Sweeping silk drapes, shisha pipes, modern/traditional music, excellent service and very clean. The service was just wonderful with the most attentive of assistance yet not overbearing. Its a great place to go just to relax and have a coffee, shisha and something quick to eat or even for a formal dinner out. I cant talk enough about the food, it was extraordinarily delicious. As a traveller who visited there often, I felt warmly welcomed everytime and felt very sad when I knew it was my last night there. The Manager even gave me a personal farewell handshake, after the culinary staff prepared a 'Special' farewell dessert for me. MMM. Nyum! I will go there again on my first night back in Cairo for sure.

Favorite Dish: Everything but in particular my farewell dessert. It was a concoction of layers of flavoured creams and custards on top of the lightest of cakes. Every taste was a different and equally delicious flavour.
