Longtails are the main transportation around Krabi in order to get to other beaches and islands. On most beaches you will find a little ticket office near or on the beach where you can buy a one-way or return ticket (all coloured differently depending on where you're going). After you've bought you ticket and you head towards the longtails, some guy will be yelling out your destination or waving the relative coloured tickets. Usually you will have to wait until there are at least 8 passengers before the longtail leaves.

They are great journeys and fun climbing in and out of the things. Generally they are quite smooth rides but had a mare going from PhiPhi Don to Maya Bay, the sea was quite rough so it was quite hairy at times!

They run from dawn til dusk. Return longtails from Ao Nang to Rai Leh cost around 250 bahts but this price went over 300 when peak season came along (1st Dec).
