L Ghonella: "Nice Ambience But Mediocre Food" Malta Restaurant Tip by Perkins_USA

Here you can enjoy dinner in the former wine cellar of an old Maltese Villa. The ambience is perfect for a night out as a couple or even for business dinners. The young chef prepares local favorites with a modern touch, but the food is not as good as you would expect from the wonderful surroundings.

I think the restaurant would be 10 times better if they made everything from scratch and used more fresh ingredients, but still, the service is good and you can enjoy a pleasant evening at this restaurant.

Ah, I forgot to mention the wine! They have a nice selection of local Maltese wines which are worth trying.

Favorite Dish: The Penne with Goat Cheese, garlic, spinach, and mushrooms was very good. It was slightly oily, but the flavors were very nice and well balanced.
