Favorite thing: I have lived in Monroe County for many years so it is the county I will begin with.

The population in this part of Western New York is over 700000.

The website for visitors is http://www.visitrochester.com/

The main air travel for the county is at the Monroe County International Airport:

There is no local subway or trolley service in the area.
The main rail service is AMTRAK: http://www.amtrak.com/

The annual Monroe County Fair is held in Rochester. (http://www.mcfair.com/)

County Sheriffs Office is: http://www.monroecountysheriff.info/

The county seal includes these features in circle divided into quadrants:
Buildings... for the growth of the area
Oil Lamp... for the education system lighting the way to the future
Apple Tree... for the agricultural heritage of the region
Geometric Figures... for the technology that the county is famous for

Fondest memory: Monroe County is named after the 5th president of the USA; James Monroe.

The county seat is in Rochester, NY. The county government was established in 1821.

The official website is: http://www.co.monroe.ny.us

The important towns and villages in the county are listed below (and I have some VT pages for each).
Brighton, Brockport, Chili, Churchville, Clarkson, East Rochester, Fairport, Gates, Greece, Hamlin, Henrietta, Hilton, Honeoye Falls, Irondequoit, Mendon, Ogden, Parma, Penfield, Perinton, Pittsford, Pittsford, Riga, Rochester, Rush, Scottsville, Spencerport, Sweden, Webster, Wheatland

Some good places to visit in the county are: city of Rochester, Genesee River, Ontario Beach, Hamlin Beach, Market Place Mall, Sea Breeze, Irondequoit Bay
