Kilkenny Tourist Traps: 2 reviews and 5 photos
This is the oldest pub in Kilkenny (1324). It has a lot of "history", the former owner Dame Alice Kyteler being accused of witchcraft and the like. It's played up a lot - as is there is traditional Irish music NIGHTLY. Wrong. When I was there, it was a couple of guys playing acoustic guitars to old 90's pop songs. It's very very much a more touristy place than a local hang out. I prefer the local scene than to rub elbows with more Americans.
Unique Suggestions: Hang out downstairs in the Tavern Bar. It's much better.
Fun Alternatives: Go to The Pumphouse or Anna Conda.
