"Lovely neighborhood" Butte de Montmartre Tip by cpiers47

Butte de Montmartre, Paris: 210 reviews and 399 photos

I could dedicate a whole page to Montmartre - so perhaps it gets an album or travelogue of its own. . .eventually.

We got off the metro and began winding our way up the hill to Sacre Coeur, although I would have been fine with taking the steps straight up. We explored a bit, saw one of the smaller cemetarys, ate a crepe in Place du Tertre and enjoyed the view before heading back down to the city as night fell. Our loop took us from the Montmartre metro stop through the neighborhood to the Blanche stop near the Moulin Rouge.

There's so much to see in this neighborhood! Take a guidebook and find Picasso's first Parisian home, Poulbot's house and paintings, Rodin's windmills. . .
