"Fateh Sagar" Fateh Sagar Lake Tip by Willettsworld

Fateh Sagar Lake, Udaipur: 8 reviews and 16 photos

This lake, 2.4km long by 1.6km wide, lies to the north of the main Pichola Lake and is equally as beautiful. It was originally built in 1678 by Maharana Jai Singh but it was later reconstructed and extended by Maharana Fateh Singh, hence its name, after heavy rains destroyed a dam. In the middle of the lake lies Nehru Park which is a garden island with nicely laid out gardens, palm trees and purple flowering shrubs. You can take a boat to the island which also includes admission to the island for Rs112. The island is fairly nice and, obviously, peaceful but the admission price is a bit hefty for what it is.

Directions: Fateh Sagar Lake is situated in the city of Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
