The Jagdish Temple is located just a couple of minutes north from the City Palace. It is one of the largest and most venerated temples of Lord Vishnu not only in Rajasthan but in northern India. It features a black stone image of Vishnu as Jagannath, Lord of the Universe. There are also smaller shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, Surya, Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Saraswati, Durga and Lord Vishwakarma. It was built by Maharana Jagat Singh I in 1651 in the Nagar style.
