City Palace, Udaipur: 65 reviews and 207 photos

Chitram-ki-Burj ("Bastion or Tower") was built by Rana Karan Singh (1620-28). The wall paintings are dated from the time of Maharana Bhim Singh (1778-1828). The Maharana, with green and gold nimbus, is accompanied by royal ladies at puja (worship) and is shown attending various festivals of Gangaur, Holi, Navratri and Diwali. The Maharana is also depicted at different places in the Lake Palace and Jagmandir. There are also scenes of procession passing through the city streets with Lake Pichola in the background. The Maharana is shown playing Polo with his nobles and the names of the players are mentioned alongside them.
