Coltea Church, Bucharest: 2 reviews and 8 photos
Next to Coltea Church is a palatial, domed building that looks like a grand opera house. It is actually Bucharest's oldest hospital, Coltea, and surprisingly it is still functioning.
The first Coltea hospital was built 1704, on land belonging to the Vacaresti family. The original building was destroyed by an earthquake in 1802, and the Neo-Classical building we see today was opened in 1888. There is a security guard at the gate and you may enter only if you are a patient or have business at the hospital.
Address: B-dul. I. C. Bratianu 1
