"An Evening On The Green" is a series of outdoor concert events staged around Australia.

On the 1st Dec '07 it was time to re-live those happy hippy days of the late 60's and early 70's when Crosby Still & Nash finally made it down under after postponing the Feb '07 event due to an illness.

It was wonderful to see them but I think that CSN's harmonies are probably a thing of their long and distinguished past. Stills seems to have little left of his singing voice and it was noticeable that he sang a lot less than the other two. But he did some really great guitar work and he can "Still" make his Stratocaster sing sweetly! Crosby is THE grandad of cool and his singing still sounds superb.

They haven't lost their political voice either, suggesting that America shouldn't have a president that can't spell "noo-klirr" and that he is also living proof that you can live a lifetime and not learn a thing!

The first act was Blanche DuBois who are a 4 piece female band from Perth, who released their album "All The Things We Never Say" in Aug '07.

This was followed by the grandad of Oz Rock and the Father of "Eagle Rock", Ross Wilson performed his many hits spanning nearly 30 years. He opened with his 70's hits as the front man for Daddy Cool and continued with his 80's hits from Mondo Rock.

"Eagle Rock" is a strong contender for the people's choice as the Oz National Anthem. Everyone down under knows the lyrics and it doesn't have phrases such as "girt by sea"!

All in all, it's a great night out with loads of fabulous music from performers over about 4 hours. The venue is licensed with beer, wine and spirits available at the bar to help you kick back and relax.
