I stayed at Budyong Beach resort in a very decent nippa hut. The front balcony had an amazing sea view changing colours and mood all time during the day. Even in the sudden torrential rain it looked very pleasant. The restaurant occupies a large space in front of the central cottage where the reception is found, too. It is open and spacious with sea views and guests gather to eat, drink and chatter all day. The whole setting is so pleasant that you need nothing more to do in order to feel happy. Hammocks and kiosks with benches are in front of the beach for relaxing moments and friendly gatherings. Sometimes we bought food in the street and had a hearty meal on the benches in front, which was a lot of fun since it involved eating with our hands; I love it!
There is only cold water in the huts but this is no trouble as it's hot enough to take it. The price for my hut in the second row but with undisturbed views was 400Ph. It was 600Ph for two people.
Air con rooms in the front have prices that go up to 1300 which is still very cheap for the happiness they can offer. (rates for 2008)
There is a floating bar on the sea in front with a free boat service for a romantic sunset drink.
The beach part in front of Kota Beach Hotel is deeper and better for swimming but you can use it, too as it is only a few steps away.

Kota Beach resort next door is more expensive (1000-1500) but a little more elaborate. It also has a restaurant serving very decent food.
