During a Wapping walk with VTer RhineRoll, we came across this tree of umbrellas. Not really knowing what it was all about but not really surprised either at finding this kind of random installation just standing there in E1 ... or anywhere in London for that matter, I took a photo anyway.

The following evening, my daily paper, The London Evening Standard, had the explanation for me..

The umbrella tree (by Goldsmiths College art student Sam Spenser) is the latest art installation (entitled "Bloom") at the Wapping Project. Situated in a former power station, the arts venue has joined up with Veuve Clicquot and the brollies (placed in an oak tree) have been made in the same colours as those used on the champagne bottle labels.
