Pantai Kerachut- swimming is not recommended

I hiked to Pantai Kerachut from the park entrance. The trail was not difficult. It has concrete steps along the way, though some have fallen apart. But the hike is enough to make me sweat eventhough I was in the rain forest with little sunlight. I took 1 hr and 40 minutes to reach the beach. It was a beautiful spot to relax. It was not crowded at all. However, swimming is not recommended as there are many jelly fish here. Bring some snack and water as you might stay longer than you intended to. It's a nice spot to picnic.

Entrance is still free (as of November 2007). However, visitors have to register at the park office before starting your journey.

Address: Teluk Bahang, Penang
Directions: Hike from Park entrance takes about 1hr 30 minutes, or you can hire a boat at RM120 per boat (30 minuts ride).
