  The long dining table

As its name suggests, this is one of the few non-church attractions at the Goreme Open Air Musuem. A refectory is a dining hall in a religious house, usually a monastery, which is not surprising that the main feature of inside this building is the long dining table carved and benches from the same rock. Austere as it may look, one wonders at how this table was carved within a single piece of rock.
