Whiting Off The Beaten Path: 4 reviews and 3 photos

Every year for Halloween, the Whiting Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) designs a spooky haunted house in Whiting Park. After years of intending to go but never getting around to it, I finally went this year with my husband, nephew and sister in law. I was expecting to laugh the whole way through since most haunted houses tend to be pretty lame but as we waited to go in, we saw a little girl who couldn't make it through with her fingernails buried deep into her dad's arm and lots of young kids running out of the exit, a sure sign we were in for a spooky time.

It was actually pretty scary, lots of pitch black rooms, people lunging at you in the dark, strobe lights. I may even make this an annual Halloween ritual!

Admission is $5, free parking. There is also a hayride for $2.
