"Poll on Essaouira town walls and the old town" Essaouira Things to Do Tip by Beefy_SAFC

The port of Essaouira (old name Mogador) and it's fortified walls took their final form (there'd been a town here since the 15th century) in 1770 by Sultan Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah with the assistant of French architect Theodore Cornut. The French took over when they took over Morocco in the early 20th Century before Morocco gained independence during the 1950's. Apart from being a pretty town on the Moroccan coast (and allegedly the coldest (and windiest) place in Morocco - due to it's position on the Atlantic coast), it's also a key fishing port and supplier of cannabis. Oh, it's a break from the 'paint everything pink' thing that dominates seemingly all other Moroccan towns, with blue and white dominating here (bottom). They probably prefer Man. City to the usual Man. Utd. (the number of people I've come across that support Man. Utd. - did you know that 98% of supposed Man. Utd. supporters have never seen them play?).
Three offers of the stuff in half an hour says it all - I'm not that 'potty!!!' Poll is very angry he didn't get to try the good stuff, but then he is a bad parrot.
