"Brunnsparken" Göteborg Things to Do Tip by Joacim
Göteborg Things to Do: 334 reviews and 562 photos
Brunnsparken is a central place right in the heart of Gothenburg down town. It is situated between two of the oldest streets in Gothenburg (Norra & Södra Hamngatan) and just outside Nordstaden (the big shopping centre).
It is a very busy place with trams, buses, a lot of people passing there every day. Because of its location in the centre it is a very popular meeting point.
In the western part of Brunnsparken you find a foutain with a statue of La Semeuse (the women who sowed), made by the sculpture Per Hasselberg and finansed by Pontus Fürstenberg. It is called "Johanna in Brunnsparken" by the people of Gothenburg because it was inaugurated 21 juli 1883 (the day when Johanna is the name of the day in the calender).
