"Romantic Horror?" Schiedam Favorite Tip by RoyJava

Favorite thing: I could not find out why these historic, beautiful windmills of Schiedam has been built? Meaning why these are so tall ... ???

Could there have been horror legends of killed people by the wings?
Or maybe these tall windmills are not that easy to conquer ... ?
Maybe the tall windmills are able to resist the raising water, reaching for its wings?
Or maybe ... there were beautiful maidens like ... Rapunzel in these old days?

Fondest memory: Well,... whenever I will hear the origins of these stories I will write these down here, for sure!

Although my family has lived in Schiedam and I used to go for a drink in the center of Schiedam in the Melody Bar I do adore these tall windmills which are the most famous of the world because of the height.

To me the tall windmills look like huge paddo's in the center of a city named Schiedam and are of a remarkable quality... an utmost fine one!

The mills were built so high to catch the wind above the houses of the city. Because of the high warehouses in the centre the windmills of Schiedam are the highest in the world. No horror, pure necessity
