Varsity: "Greek timewarp" The Varsity Tip by SallyM

Varsity is a Greek Cypriot restaurant, but not particularly authentic. It seems to be in something of a 1970s timewarp. There are two or three dishes on the menu which come with a sweet mandarin, pineapple and cream sauce, and rather too many are served with chips. More worryingly, the Greek salad, is served with an overpowering mustard dressing. I have never encountered this in any other Greek restaurant (in Greece, Cyprus or the UK).

Having said that, the moussaka was perfectly OK, the desserts appeared home made and the prices are reasonable for Cambridge.

It's also said to be the oldest restaurant in Cambridge and has had many famous visitors.

Favorite Dish: The hummous starter came with lots of fresh warm pitta.
