"POPAYAN: WHITE CITY" Colombia Things to Do Tip by swesn

Colombia Things to Do: 240 reviews and 516 photos

Popayan had been destroyed in a major earthquake in 1983.

Now, having been fully restored, Popayan still retains its colonial flavour. Most of the buildings around are painted white. There are charming two-storey buildings, monasteries and churches.

While there are seemingly a handful of churches and museums to visit, I didn't bother by now. I simply walked around the city and enjoyed the peaceful, charming feel.
