Ottawa Off The Beaten Path: 118 reviews and 182 photos
Ottawa has a multitude of greenspace including parks and waterways.Vincent Massey Park is named after Canada's first Canadian- born Governor General,Vincent Massey.
This park is a fair size and contains large areas of manicured grass,a bandstand, pathways small patches of forest and the Rideau River flows at the Western edge of the park providing wonderful scenery.
There are bbq pits and baseball diamonds as well as numerous picnic tables...its a wonderful place smack in the middle of the city to take a time out and just relax and enjoy a nice walk, feed the squirels, or enjoy a picnic without even having to leave the city.
The park's main entrance is on Heron Road and is just West of Riverside Drive. If you are heading there via bike path follow the Rideau River on the South shore and head West...after you cross Bank Street it is another three or four kms maximum...travelling times will vary depending on how many times you are distracted and might stop for a few minutes.
