Pretoria Warnings and Dangers: 15 reviews and 9 photos
It is true that crime is a problem in South Africa.
But, there are certain areas which is more risky than others. The city centre is NOT a very safe place, and not be visited at night if not familiar with the area.
Do not flash cell phones, cameras etc.
If you go out at night, it is better as a group, than going as a single person.
When withdrawing money from an ATM, don't allow anybody to "assist" you - put your money in your wallet before leaving from the ATM.
Do not use a minibus taxi, as they do drive reckless and the route they do is not always known.
