"Eat Frites on Place Jourdan" Food & Drink Tip by DanielF

Food & Drink, Brussels: 18 reviews and 31 photos

Place Jourdan is a pleasant square near the Leopold Park. It is lined with several cafés and restaurants, but the biggest draw for Brusselaars is the famous Friterie Antoine, considered by many the best in the city.

Friteries are a real institution in Belgium and, although I could perfectly live without their stinky fumes and unhealthy food, they provide one of the main food staplers for many Belgians, including the famous frites, or chip potatoes fried in overheated fat and topped with mayonnaise and other sauces of suspicious consistency.

Friterie Antoine has a huge reputation in the city and although it is not located near to none of the tourist attractions in Brussels, there are always long lines in front of it.
