Pink Tuna: "Pricey Sushi" Top 5 Page for this destination Monterey Restaurant Tip by Lhenne1

Monterey Restaurants: 207 reviews and 387 photos

Pink Tuna is a new restaurant in downtown Monterey. Their specialty is sushi and the menu offers a wide variety. When we visited the restaurant didn't have a liquor license yet.

The sushi meals were good, but a bit expensive for sushi. The portions were fairly small as well and we each had to order 2 dishes (for about $13 each). One of my friends ordered a chicken teryiaki dish that was delicious and came with a salad and miso soup.

The ambiance was ok, but a bit loud. The restaurnat is going for a more modern appeal with videos being played on the wall. For a sushi novice, the menu explains everything and makes you feel unafriad to try something new.

The service was a little slow, we could tell the kinks were being worked out a the new restaurant. Overall, I wasn't impressed. There are better sushi places in the area where you can get more for a lower bill and have an Asahi or Sapporo to go along with it.

Favorite Dish: The red and white was good but I would have liked more for the $13 it cost.
