"Upper Hall Street: Great Views of Portland" Portland Heights Things to Do Tip by glabah
Portland Heights Things to Do: 4 reviews and 12 photos
As Portland Heights has become crowded with more and more buildings the locations available for the general public walking on the sidewalks to see the city have become more and more limited.
Yet, even today SW Upper Hall Street remains one of the places where you can still see some great views of the city.
This will not be true for very long, though. The last remaining lot on this street is for sale, and soon you can expect these great views north to the Freemont Bridge (and in clear weather Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier) and east to downtown Portland and the hills on the east side of the city (and in clear weather Mt. Hood) to be privately owned.
The lot has been for sale for almost 4 years now. Most likely this is a combination between the high asking price for any land in the hills, and the difficulty of actually accessing anything on this hill - in ice Upper Hall is impossible to use. One day, however, this last great view of the city will be sold.
