Various dragon statues which can be found on the Embankment and the Strand mark the place where the gates to the City of London once stood. Temple Bar at the Strand is the most famous, this statue marks the spot where the gate once stood, the actual gate was moved brick by brick to Paternoster Square which can still be seen today.
