Frankfurt am Main Things to Do: 605 reviews and 1,055 photos

Fortunately in the last years some efforts have been made to reconstruct some "lost" buildings in Frankfurt, and more are to come. One good example is the "Literaturhaus". This neo-classic library building from 1825 on the northern bank of the river Main (fittingly named "An der Schönen Aussicht") was one of the most beautiful buildings in Frankfurt. After WW2, only a few columns were left, the rest was rubble. In 2000 the decision to rebuild the Literaturhaus was made, and in 2005, the reconstruction was complete.

Directions: To find it, get out at the tube station Konstablerwache, go south (to the Main river) along the main road, then turn left before the bridge and after 200 metres you have reached your destination.
