Entrance is free and the amphitheater is not warded. You can wander in the galleries that were used to bring the wild animals and the gladiators into the stage.
The second photo shows the mosaics in the Byzantine chapel that was built in the IVth AD in one of these galleries.
On the left, Saint Stephan praying with both hands open, presenting his palms. On the right of the picture, two angels frame a crowned queen Virgin clad in the Imperial clothing and holding in her hand the earth (enlargement on photo 3). In front of each archangels, a man and a woman are represented much smaller, kneeled and praying. They should those who paid for the mosaic.
Photo 4 is a carving that looks ancient on a wall.
