Poor chap.....his statue (which was once displayed at the front of the cathedral) is desperately eroded from the pollution of the past few centuries. Nevertheless, it's clearly King Charles ll, with his flouncy Restoration clothing and long, lush curls. He's stuck round the side of the cathedral now, easily missed, but at least has his own rain-covering to stop him eroding even more.

He deserved a special statue, by the way, because he gave Lichfield a big lump of money to help restore the Cathedral after it was so badly damaged during the English Civil War (which ended when the Roundheads, led by Oliver Cromwell, deposed and beheaded his father Charles l).
