I love this park, it is just outside of the circle and you can feel like you're really out in nature while you're practically 15 mins from downtown. The hiking trails are pretty good, i believe they could be maintained a little better, but perhaps they don't have a huge amount of money to do so. It costs $4 for each car to get in and they'll give you a map if you want one. The park has a Restaurant, Bait Shop, Bark Park, Sailboat Club, Concession Stands, Fishing Areas, Fitness Course, Nature Center, Retreat Centers (2), Picnic Areas and Shelters, Boat Ramp and Slips, Swim Beach, Lilly Lake, State Nature Preserves (2), Sailboat/ Rowboat/ Canoe Rentals, Cross-Country Skiing Paths, Marsh & Bird Sanctuary, Pistol/Archery Range, and Woodland Wildlife Preserve. There are signs posted that don't allow swimming now, because of a huge over growth of blue-green algea. Apparently, there are a bunch of terrible symptoms you can get if you eat it or drink it. The signs are posted in Spanish and English for all park goers.

Equipment: For hiking you just need a pair or hiking boots or even tennis shoes. And maybe you could pack a lunch, there are picnic areas all over the park.

Important INFO:*
1.Heading North on 465 take the 56st St. exit and then turn left.

2.But heading South(more difficult) take the 71st St. exit then go east to Georgetown Rd. turn Right (south) to 56th St. turn Right and then you'll drive maybe 2 miles cross the bridge over 465 and the park will be on your right hand side.
