Cerro Santa Lucia is a breath of air in the middle of Santiago. Its tall trees and colourful flowers is the final touch that completes the picture of the panoramic view. There are benches all along the way and small paths that run through the whole hill. According to the Santiago history it was on this hill that the founder of the city, Pedro Valdivia, started building the new city in 1554. There are some craft stalls on the top level and a cafeteria for great views. Walk there in day light as dark hides thieves and muggers in the bushes....
