Stayed 10 nites from 16 July this year. Was a bit apprehensive after reading some 'not so favourable' reviews here.

We were given a standard queen bedded room since we booked through PL. The room was small but offered the basic amenities including a closet that provided sufficient space for storing our luggage etc. The toilet though compact was clean with fresh towels and toiletries provided daily. The headboard was interesting - repro of paintings by Dutch masters.

On the 2nd nite, the air-con broke down and when this was brought to the attention of the front office staff, we were immediately told to check out and get keys to a new room. To our pleasant surprise they upgraded us to a much larger room with a king-size bed. This was a bonus for us - something we did not expect.

The location is everything about the hotel - smacked right in the middle of theatreland, restaurants, shopping etc. We could roamed the streets at 2am and still be able to walk back to the hotel with no worries about safety issues.

The Dean and Delucca cafe downstairs serves fabulous muffins and coffee. Don't miss it!

Although we had a good stay here, we much prefer The Roosevelt where we stayed for 4 nights towards the end of the month.

Unique Qualities: Lobby is a fantastic place to hang around - the music is good and the sound system just as good.
