  Gritty McDuff's Portland Brew Pub

I thought it was rather interesting that when Gritty McDuff's opened back in 1988, it became Maine's first brew pub since prohibition! What drew us to this pub was its small patio located on the cobblestones of Wharf Street, but we ended up eating inside as there was a nice atmosphere near the bar. I was in the mood for a typical pub meal so I went for the meatloaf dinner, something I hardly ever eat, but it turned out to be quite good - the spinach, mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes were a nice change from what you get in most restaurants. Sylvain went for the burger and Cajun sweet fries and he also really enjoyed his meal, which we both topped with one of the pub's great home-brewed beers.

Favorite Dish: I really liked that meatloaf!
